A Folk Drama, “Chamacheluve” – Student Production (2025–26 Batch)

“Chamacheluve”, a folk drama produced and performed by students, has been successfully staged across various parts of Karnataka as well as in the metropolitan cities of Chennai and Mumbai, earning widespread appreciation from audiences. The production has provided students with invaluable hands-on experience in theatre, enabling them to develop their acting skills, stagecraft, teamwork, and artistic expression in real-world performance settings. By presenting the play on diverse platforms and before varied audiences, the students have gained confidence, professional exposure, and a deeper understanding of folk theatre traditions. As a learning experience, Chamacheluve has played a significant role in nurturing creativity, cultural awareness, and practical knowledge of the performing arts, making it an enriching and transformative journey for the student artists.

A Mythological Play – “Manthara” Student Production (2025–26 Batch)

“Manthara” is a mythological play written by the renowned Kannada playwright Dr. H. S. Venkatesha Murthy, offering a thought-provoking interpretation of the iconic character Manthara from the Ramayana. Produced and performed by the Diploma students of the 2025–26 batch, the play provided an enriching learning experience in acting, character development, dialogue delivery, and stagecraft. Through an in-depth exploration of Manthara’s personality, motives, and influence on the course of events in the epic, students gained valuable insights into classical literature and theatrical performance. The production not only enhanced their artistic skills and creative expression but also deepened their appreciation of India’s rich mythological and cultural heritage, making it a significant milestone in their theatre education.

Make-up and Costume Design Workshop for Diploma Students (2025–26 Batch)

The makeup and costume designing workshop organized for the students of the 2025-26 academic year was truly a unique experience for them. Senior theatre personality Mr. B.M. Ramachandra taught the students the magic of bringing characters to life. This workshop deeply made them realize that costume design and makeup are not just limited to beauty, but are an important medium reflecting the character’s state of mind and the depth of the story. This kind of practical knowledge has further enriched our students’ theatre learning journey.

Lighting Workshop for Diploma Students (2025–26 Batch)
The lighting workshop organized for our diploma students of the 2025-26 academic year was a profound study of the technical and visual language of theatre. When acclaimed theatre artist and senior theatre personality Mr. Krishna Kumar Narnakaje conducted this workshop, each ray of light on stage became not just a lamp, but a magic that transformed into a mood.
He deeply explained the role of light and its intensity, guiding students through the science of colors, primary colors, and how to design and use colors according to various situations with great subtlety. The students learned through this rigorous and creative training how the precise blend of light and color breathes life into the characters on stage and transports the audience into the world of the story.

“Mask-Making Workshop”

A Paper and Clay Mask-Making Workshop was organized for the Diploma students of the academic year 2025–26. The resource person, Mr. Sreekanth, guided the students through various techniques and artistic aspects of mask making. The students actively participated in hands-on activities and learned how to create creative masks using paper and clay. The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to enhance their artistic skills, craftsmanship, and creativity. The students enthusiastically designed and crafted a variety of masks, showcasing their talent and imagination. The session was both informative and engaging, offering a valuable learning experience for all participants.

UGAMA – From Ape to Human

As part of the academic year 2025–26 activities, our Diploma students presented a unique performance titled “UGAMA”, based on the concept of human evolution from ape to modern human. The presentation was performed entirely through body language, facial expressions, and movement, without the use of any spoken language or dialogue. Through their creative and expressive acting, the students effectively portrayed the different stages of evolution, captivating the audience and conveying the theme with great clarity. The performance showcased their creativity, teamwork, and artistic talent, while also enhancing their confidence and non-verbal communication skills. The presentation was highly appreciated for its originality and impactful execution.
